John Hasnas is a professor of ethics at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, a professor of law (by courtesy) at Georgetown Law, and the executive director of the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics. He has published several articles and op-eds and spoken frequently on the need for intellectual diversity and freedom of speech on campus. Professor Hasnas was instrumental in persuading Georgetown to adopt the Chicago Statement as University policy, and continues to work on institutional reforms to make the University’s commitment to freedom of speech meaningful in practice.
